1. Suspected E. coli outbreaks being investigated in Finland

A number of suspected E. coli outbreaks are under investigation by authorities in Finland to see if they are connected. Nine alerts were received by The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) between June and August of this year.

2. ASF outbreak reported in Bulgaria

An outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) was reported by Bulgarian veterinary authorities on 18 August.

3. U.S. Salmonella outbreak under investigation
16.08.2021. USA. Salmonella
A multi-state Salmonella outbreak is under investigation by authorities in the US; the outbreak is thought to be linked to frozen cooked shrimp.

4. Study looks at E. coli infections in Ireland

Patterns in periodic Shiga toxin–producing E. coli (STEC) infections in Ireland have been looked at by researchers.
