Toronto sees new $10 million federal investment to expand Enwave’s deep lake water cooling system
This investment from the federal Low Carbon Economy Fund will help to expand Enwave's deep lake-water cooling system. This process draws cold water from Lake Ontario to cool hospitals. schools, and other downtown Toronto buildings - reducing the amount of energy needed for air conditioning by up to 80%. Great to see deep investment to meet our TransformTO climate goals. We’ve come a long way from 2004 when TAF was one of the first funders to initiate Enwave’s low-carbon system.
