The DDU (Critical Care and Emergency) and CCPU (Lung, RCE, Pleural Effusion) certified members have received a short survey regarding access to ultrasound.
ASUM continues to advocate with government to support access to ultrasound equipment to support diagnosis, management and monitoring of COVID-19 patients. We would appreciate 1 minute of your time to capture current access and areas of need in your department.
While we continue to advocate for recognition of point-of-care ultrasound, we are focussed on the immediate need for access to ultrasound equipment to perform lung and/or cardiac ultrasound in the fight against COVID-19.

Education update - CCPU, DDU, DMU
The ASUM educational committees and team are working on all possible options with regards to DDU and DMU assessments.
These are uncertain times and ASUM is aware of the concerns relating to DDU/DMU examinations and the challenges in providing assessments in line with the current regulations. As notified this week, we are actively working on solutions to provide you with clarity on this and will share these with you once we have more detail.
Those enrolled in the CCPU have the option to defer without penalty for 3 months while we further assess this. In addition we have announced the inclusion of paediatrics in many of the emergency modules as outlined here.
