Term 1 Professional LearningThe Teachers New to Stage 1 & 2 Workshops will be running throughout February & March, kicking off with Biology & Physics on 15 February followed by Psychology on 22 February, Chemistry on 1 March and Nutrition 4 March. Limited places are available in these workshops so make sure you get in early! Registrations are also open for the Putting the 'E' in STEM Workshops - Primary on 25 February and Secondary on 15 March. Visit the website for more information

SASTA AwardsHave you considered nominating yourself or a colleague for a SASTA Award or Scholarship? There are many great teachers out there that SASTA would like to acknowledge, but often they don’t get nominated for Awards. There are a number of awards available to SASTA members and we would love to hear from you and share your contributions to your school and science community! Find out more here.
Maritime Museum Excursion FREE for membersThis free two hour teacher excursion aims to introduce you to the Maritime Museum and the programs they have available. The tour will start with a half hour boat ride on the Port River and then we will move into the museum where you will have time to explore the exhibitions independently and with a guide. The tour will finish with a visit to the Port Adelaide Light House. For more details and to register visit the website.
2019 SASTA Annual ConferenceWe have already confirmed a great line up of Keynote Speakers including Professor Alan Duffy who will discuss 'Classroom Science - Real World Research - where the two meet' and Professor Sandra Orgeig who will speak around the concept of science as an evidence based way to make policy and other decisions and an examination of the rise of 'fake news'. Some of our Cutting Edge Speakers include Dr Ben Sparkes who will discuss research in optical quantum information processing including demonstrations of the Laser Radio and a Laser
Interferometer and Dr Cameron Shearer will speak about 'Hydrogen: A renewable energy sourced from sunlight and water'. If you're interested in contributing to the program, please submit your workshop session by Friday 8 March. Click here for more information.

National Science WeekSchool theme - Destination Moon: more missions, more science School grants of up to $500 will be available again this year!
