Reminder: Pitt Pantry Offering Critical Resources

Pitt affiliates impacted by the recent disruption in SNAP benefit disbursements are encouraged to utilize available campus and community resources, including the Pitt Pantry and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The Pitt Pantry will continue operating on its regular fall semester schedule and is closely monitoring inventory in anticipation of increased demand. All students (graduate and undergraduate), faculty, and staff are welcome to visit the Pantry to supplement their nutrition with healthy, no-cost food options.
Additionally, students are encouraged to contact the Care and Resource Support Office for assistance in accessing additional resources. This office is dedicated to addressing a wide range of student needs and connecting students with appropriate support services.

GRADUATE SCHOOL INFORMATION


Full-time Research Assistant, Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital

Full time research assistant needed to join a laboratory within the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital focused on the study of psychotic disorders. Under direct supervision, the research assistant will lead recruitment and serve as a primary assessor for a randomized-clinical trial (RCT) of a psychotherapy intervention for delusions. This will require a desire to work directly with individuals who experience psychosis as well as excellent organizational and data management skills. The research assistant will be responsible for performing psychiatric symptom interviews, administering cognitive tests, and carrying out neuroimaging study protocols.

The research assistant will be an integral part of the study team, will regularly attend clinical meetings and will assist with recruitment in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the maintenance of IRBs, database management, and assisting with manuscript preparation.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and capable of working independently.  Individuals interested in mental health and psychosocial clinical trials are especially encouraged to apply.  The position requires a high level of interpersonal skills, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.  It is ideal for individuals with a clinical master’s degree and/ or those interested in pursuing a PhD in clinical psychology (or related field). Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field (e.g. neuroscience, human development). Experience in a clinical research setting is highly desirable. Training in clinical interviewing methods, cognitive testing, and neuroimaging data analysis will be provided. This position is at least a 2-year commitment and the ideal start date is no later than May 1, 2026.
