European Outsider Art Association:
International Conference

The European Outsider Art Association (EOA) is devoted to the promotion of marginalised art and artists in the European cultural sector.

The 2021 annual conference and general assembly of the EOA is being hosted by the Museum im Lagerhaus, in St.Gallen, Switzerland.

The conference aims to explore questions about how Outsider Art is received: Which art traditions are reflected in the current Outsider Art debate? Can cultural traditions influence art emerging from outside the mainstream art world and art institutions? Is there a tradition of Outsider Art and where would we find it?

Trebnje Gallery of Naive Artists:
Samaneh Atef

An exhibition of Iranian artist Samaneh Atef. 39 paintings, grouped under the title "Awareness", will be on view in The Gallery of Naive Artists in Trebnje until May 2.

Samaneh Atef is the recipient of the Grand Prix prize of the 52nd International meeting of naive artists in Trebnje. Originating from Iran, she has been living and creating in France for the last year. In Iran she studied computer science, but drawing has been her means of expression since 2014.

The works for the exhibition were chosen by the author herself, and were set by the curator of the gallery, Andrejka Vabič Nose, who says:

"The figures of Samaneh Atef overwhelm us with their contrast and enigma, on the one hand with tenderness, on the other with a special feeling of strangeness, otherness, even horror."

    Collégiale Sainte-Croix:
Hors cadre, l’Art Singulier y met les formes!

Artists from the art singulier movement have been selected by two curators for an exhibition in Loudun, France, Hors cadre, l’Art Singulier y met les formes! (Outside the frame where singular art takes shape) until May 2.

The artists were selected for their disregard of conventions and creative spontaneity. Assemblage, embroidery, textiles, ceramics, collages and sculpture… are all on the menu, with a strong emphasis on recycling.

Mille et une histoires illuminent l'histoire de notre monde, Christine Fayon. Textile,

The stunning Romanesque church setting of Collégiale Sainte-Croix perfectly compliments the work on display.
