Congratulations - Gerald Loughran

Well-known Tasmanian businessman and the founding Chair of the Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) Gerald Loughran has been made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the community of Tasmania through business, education and arts organisations.

For close to 20 years, Mr Loughran was Managing Director of statewide electrical and home furnishing retail business Loughrans Pty Ltd, which was sold to Harvey Norman in 1998.

Mr Loughran has been a director of many well-known Tasmanian business and organisations including The Salamanca Arts Centre, University of Tasmania Foundation, Webster Ltd, The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association, and was the Chair of The Trust Bank.

He was the founding Chair of the TCF from 2000-2009, taking on the role after orchestrating the sale of The Trust Bank and ensuring there was a long-term benefit left to the entire Tasmanian community. More ..

A Year of Gratitude - Foundations to Flourish

2021 has kicked off as the ‘Year of Gratitude’ on King Island with the Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) announcing $34,477 has been awarded to Foundations to Flourish to assist with their 2021 program of events.

Foundations to Flourish engages with a wide range of people on King Island, helping them to develop greater wellbeing through education, awareness and the practise of Positive Psychology.

President of Foundations to Flourish Tara Clark said the group’s volunteers and members were excited that a number of projects could now be rolled out in full during the year.

“We held an amazing Colour Run as part of the Australia Day Festival, a magical mystery dinner and bring expertise to the island for workshops that will thematically focus on gratitude and build on the strength of community,” Ms Clark said.  More ...

2021 Improved Wellbeing and Workforce Engagement Round

The Tasmanian Community Fund's 2021 Improved Wellbeing and Workforce Engagement Strategic Initiative Rounds will open at 8am on Saturday, 6 February 2021.

Guidelines and application forms will be available on the TCF website from 2 February 2021.

Applicants are encouraged to contact to the TCF Office on 6165 8333 to discuss their project idea.
