Bruges

Bruges is recognisable by the typical bridges over the canals. The bridge represents connection. A bridge between history and innovation. In Bruges, we reach out to our (inter)national guests whom we advise and assist to organise a successful seminar or conference in our UNESCO World Heritage City. Our local experts have the necessary knowledge in healthcare, ICT & mechatronics, the port and, of course, tourism & culture. We are happy to put you in touch with them.

Curious to find out more? You can read all about it in our summer newsletter. Have a lovely summer holiday!

A look at some upcoming conferences

The Bruges conference calendar for the autumn is well-stocked.

Featured: UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum

Bruges is hosting the 5th edition of the UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum on 25 and 26 October at the Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre. Visit Bruges Convention Bureau is pleased that the Union Cycliste Internationale has chosen Bruges as the venue for the Forum.

Cycling has become a big part of Bruges' tourist DNA. We encourage visitors to explore our UNESCO World Heritage City, the forests and wetlands of Bruges by bicycle. Some top sporting events are also held in Bruges, such as of the Tour of Flanders and the World Cycling Championships. Hosting the forum is the perfect opportunity to keep our cycling legacy alive and inspire our citizens and visitors to walk and cycle even more.

Proud of our Flanders Heritage venues

Three Bruges venues joined the Tourism Flanders' Flanders Heritage Venue 2.0 network: Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre, Concertgebouw Brugge (Concert Hall) and La Brugeoise. Along with the Provincial Court, they put Bruges on the map as an inspiring and high-quality convention destination. These locations were assessed by Tourism Flanders on a number of criteria, such as sustainability, accessibility, experience and digitalisation, and will be promoted in international association campaigns.

Sustainability at its best

Thirteen new Flemish venues, including Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre, Martin's Brugge and Martin's Relais receive Green Key, the international sustainability label for accommodation, MICE venues, attractions and restaurants.

The new Green Key-holders are being recognised for their efforts in sustainable and responsible business practices. For example, they keep their carbon footprint low thanks to energy and water-saving measures, offer local, organic and/or vegetarian options at breakfast, avoid disposable packaging and clean with ecological products.
