1. Salmonella outbreak linked to melons

A Salmonella Braenderup outbreak starting in late March has affected 200 people in more than 10 countries; including Canada, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, in Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the UK and Switzerland.

African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks cause the killing of over 4,600 pigs in two month, causing major disruptions in the Indian state of Mizoram.

3. Salmonella outbreak linked to raw frozen breaded stuffed chicken products

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have declared a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to raw frozen breaded stuffed chicken products. As of June 2, 2021, a total of 17 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Enteritidis have been reported from 6 states.

4. Enoki mushrooms recalled due to Listeria risk

At least four companies have recalled Enoki mushrooms imported from China and Korea this week due to the risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

5. First human care of rare bird flu reported in China: Reuters

Reuters reports that the first human infection involving the rare, low-pathogenic strain of H10N3 bird flu was diagnosed in the Jiangsu province.
