Sexual Dysfunction Connected to Poor Sleep
Many older adults have trouble sleeping, and such problems could be affecting their sexual function as well.
In a study of almost 4,000 adults over 50 in the United Kingdom, women who reported low sleep quality were more likely to have orgasm difficulties.
While sleep quality did not appear to affect men's orgasms, sleep duration did: men who slept more than 8 hours each night had more orgasm issues.
Women who rated their sleep quality as low or moderate tended to have more problems with arousal. In men, moderate sleep quality was linked to greater odds of erectile dysfunction.
More details on the study, including the authors' recommendations, can be found here.
