We hope you are well and able to stay active as we face the coronavirus and the challenges it brings.In this edition: ![]() Coronavirus and its impact on physical activity These are unusual times and we’re having to change the way we live, work and socialise. It’s been encouraging to see the effort all around the county to do more phsycial activity and we recognise that not all of us can and have been able to do this. We can move aims to help keep physical activity on our priorites list; while we understand that this will not always be the case, the benefits of moving more can help with our physical and mental health during this time. There are small changes you can make to your routine that can help. A physical activity specialist at Active Gloucestershire has shared his experience and suggestions on how to keep moving at home. #StayInWorkOut #wecanmove ![]() Make home working work for you Figuring out how to maintain a level of normality in our day and striking a balance between home, school and work is essential. We have put together a short guide to help you during this time to keep you moving.![]() Support for older adults Our Fall-proof campaign can support you or your older friends and relatives to keep moving while improving their strength and balance. We have an easy-to-use guide that you can download or share with others. We also have a range of simple exercises to do at home. It’s more important than ever to help support one another to keep moving, so remember to share this with your networks and the older adults in your life. #StayInWorkOut #wecanmove ![]() Get funding Many of you are still supporting your local community throughout this crisis. Your organisation or community club may be struggling financially. Sport England recently announced its emergency response funding – £195 million to help organisations who have a role in supporting others to be active. You can find out more about this funding here. This may be as part of your job or something you do voluntarily. You can find support from the we can move community of change makers. We have a range of training and courses to support you. Even though we can’t deliver our courses face-to-face at the moment, we still have support and information available to help you support older adults, disabled people, young people, women, communities and many more groups through this time.
