We wanted to get in touch and help you get ready for your Health and Social Work Professions journey - with aspirational statistics from your chosen sector, information about the many opportunities available to you at College, and details of some preparations you can make for College life. There are many exciting roles and career opportunities within the Health and Social Work sector. These include:

  • Adult Guidance Worker
  • Care Manager
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapist
  • Counsellor
  • And more!

 

Before you start in September, you should try to: 

  • Read up on your course
  • Research your chosen subject
  • Look up the types of careers you may want to do
  • Find out more about the College’s designated Careers Zone - getting you ready for your future
  • Think about if you need any materials or equipment for your course - if you need more information let us know 
  • What kind of extracurricular activities might you be interested in at College - you can view our extracurricular guide online and sign up at enrolment

Think about any questions you might want to ask your tutor at your New Student Event.

 

As part of your course, you will complete the Skills for Health Care Certificate in Year 1, a recognised qualification for employment in the sector, and studies are supported by work experience and extracurricular opportunities such as A&E Cadets and the NHS Health Cadets.

 

 

Chloe McCaigue achieved A* in her Health and Social Work Professions course, and now studies Child Nursing at Edge Hill University.
