Choose your Medical School Tool for 2020 Admission

Holding more than one acceptance for medical schools? The "Commit to Enroll" option became available April 30. Please ask a prehealth adviser for advice in navigating the Choose Your Medical School Tool.

Stay Connected!

We have set up 2 new Canvas modules for current students and alumni to be able to stay connected with one another during the application process, and to allow you to watch our pre-recorded group advising sessions.

Join our Health Professions School Applicants Networking Space to ask & answer questions about any part of the application process. We want this to be  a safe place for our Penn State applicants to have open and honest discussions about their candidacy.

Join our PreHealth Group Advising module to learn about preparing for a career in your chosen health profession, and gain access to the pre-health advising team.

Notre Dame and Others  Call on Med Schools to Accept Pass/No-Credit Grades for Spring 2020 Courses

More than 50 MD and DO medical programs have said that they will accept pass-fail grades for Spring 2020 with no conditions. Find out which schools are on that list here and check back for more additions to the list.

 

AAMC has posted their guide to grades for the Spring 2020 semester here.

CDC Hiring

The CDC Foundation is actively hiring for their COVID Response Corps for positions including contact tracers, epidemiologists, nurses, project managers, administrative assistants, and others – in locations around the country. Today there are many job postings on their COVID-19 Corps jobs website, and it is being updated with new opportunities daily.

Guide to Public Assistance

The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial & Life Skills Center understands that current events may cause a greater need for certain resources, so they are proud to announce a new Guide to Public Assistance from Penn State’s Student Insurance Advocate.  

You will find a list of resources for in-state and out-of-state needs, such as:  

  • Healthcare/Medical assistance 
  • SNAP (formerly food stamps) assistance 
  • Cash assistance 
  • Housing assistance 
  • And MORE! 

If you need any help navigating these resources, or searching for programs in your state, you can contact the Student Insurance Advocate by emailing insuranceadvocate@psu.edu or calling 814-865-7467.

UCSF Community Dental Clinic Internship

The Community Dental Clinic (CDC) at UCSF School of Dentistry is looking for new pre-dental interns to join our team for year-long positions, from Summer 2020 to Summer 2021!

CDC is a weekly dental clinic providing free dental services for the underserved populations in the Bay Area. CDC is a student-run clinic that provides faculty and student volunteers the opportunity to give back to their community. We are excited to extend that opportunity to those with similar passions through the CDC Pre-dental Internship.Application is open now and are due May 31st at 11:59PM.
