Click here Happy New Year to you!It might be the 13th January but Happy New Year to you from the UK5G Advisory Board and Working Groups. There is plenty to update you on so here's a summary provided by Ros Singleton, Chair of the UK5G Advisory Board. Happy New Year! I hope you're enjoying a productive start to 2020? We ended last year with this newsletter by Ian Smith, 5G Testbeds & Trials (5GTT) Programme Director (DCMS), who provided a great summary of the 5GTT action since its launch back in 2017. This year, we look forward to the working groups continuing their work at pace to engage their respective communities in the development and delivery of 5G capabilities. We will also focus on further promoting the 5GTT use cases by exhibiting and speaking at key conferences throughout the year including: - 5G-ACIA Conference (January) The Creative Industries Working Groups (CIWGs) are delivering a series of workshops throughout Q1-Q2 which we will be announcing *hopefully* in the next week or so. These workshops will be exploring how 5G can be harnessed by the heritage, sports, music, advertising and broadcasting industries. Expect an email from us as soon as these events are live on the website. We expect that Ministers will shortly be announcing the Rural Connected Communities (RCC) and Manufacturing & Logistics Testbed competition winners. The applications have been undergoing a vigorous and time-intensive selection process so we will be excited to share the outcome with you. Keep in touch with UK5G to find out about new competitions as they are announced. The first Advisory Board meeting of the year is taking place on the 20th January in Bristol, so I hope to share another update with you in early February. If I can remind subscribers to post any 5G related queries on to the Collaboration Exchange, we will respond as soon as we can and facilitate any needful introductions where necessary.
