Rebooting healthy eating habits in child cancer survivors Fussy eating and taste changes are common side effects of cancer treatment – now, a healthy eating program designed by UNSW medical researchers is helping parents get their child’s diet back on track. GRANTSGilead Sciences 2020 Research Grants Program This Australian-specific initiative aims to support the development, exploration and implementation of best practice in enhancing patient outcomes in the disease areas of HIV, chronic viral hepatitis, haematological oncology, NASH, inflammatory diseases, invasive fungal infections and COVID-19. Deadline: 7 August 2020 HCF Research Foundation Health Services Research Grants 2020 This program funds research projects that focus on providing quality care and better patient outcomes. Applications should align with one of the following topics: Emerging health care solutions and alternative models that engage and support health care users; Management of joint pain. Deadline: 13 August 2020 Heart Foundation Cardio-Oncology Grant Deadline: 14 August 2020 (letter of intent) MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme) Oncology Grant Program 2020 This grant of up to US$50K aims to establish a global community of health policy researchers driving evidence-based and forward-looking health policy recommendations that will improve health outcomes for cancer patients. Deadline : 14 August 2020 Leukaemia PhD Scholarships The Leukaemia Foundation and HSANZ are offering doctoral scholarships of up to $130K p/a to applicants demonstrating merit in blood cancer or blood cancer related disorders. Deadline: 16 August 2020 HZANZ New Investigator Clinical Fellowships The Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand is offering New Investigator Clinical Fellowships, enabling medical graduates to gain clinical or laboratory experience in Centres of Excellence overseas or in Australia and New Zealand. Each Clinical Fellowship is $60,000 for 1 year. These mentors will share their personal stories and how they have navigated from being a PhD student to their current positions. When: 7 September 2020 ABOUT USTCRN The Translational Cancer Research Network (TCRN) is a translational cancer research centre program funded by the Cancer Institute NSW and is a collaborative and interactive cancer research community based in the South East of Sydney, with links to cancer services and researchers in inner and southern Sydney, and Albury. It was formed to create an innovative and supportive environment for the translation of cancer research into improvements in patient care. CONCERT The Centre for Oncology Education, Research and Training (CONCERT) is a translational research centre program funded by the Cancer Insitute NSW. CONCERT exists to bring together the knowledge and expertise of cancer health professionals and researchers to facilitate translation of research generated evidence into practice to achieve better outcomes for those affected by cancer. Cancer CAG The Cancer Clinical Academic Group (Cancer CAG) brings together clinicians and researchers from three universities, four cancer services (with six major treatment facilities) and three Medical Research Institutes. Our combined research strength spans the translational medicine spectrum of bench to bedside and health service delivery.
