Council is exploring a range of actions to enhance and promote our City Centre to ensure its continued success. These actions include:
New 150-space off-street car parkCouncil is creating a new 150-space off-street car park at the Old Post Office site on Grafton Street. Work has commenced to demolish existing buildings on the site, with the parking spaces to be completed by October. It is anticipated that the car park will provide casual and all-day parking options. Free weekend parking in CBD to support businessesOn-street CBD parking is now free from 2pm on Saturday and all day on Sunday. There are no time limits during these hours. Drivers are reminded that normal rules apply to loading zones, taxi zones, bus zones, no-standing zones, disability bays and other restricted parking areas. CBD visitors should ignore the parking signs applying to Saturday afternoons and Sundays during the transition and are not required to pay or take a parking ticket to display on their dashboard. Cairns to be home of new Manufacturing HubThe Queensland Government is investing $30 million into regional manufacturing hubs in Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton.

Google Analytics - Small Business Support Program Learn about multiple accounts, filters, installing tracking goals and code on the website, analysing data by segment/insight/channels and other tools, reading multiple reports to tell a story, identifying red flags, understanding user flow through your website and finding pages causing issues. All attendees must bring their own laptop/device and have an active Google Analytics Account.
Cyber Security Small Business Program The Cyber Security Small Business Program supports small businesses across Australia to have their cyber security tested by a provider that has been approved by the Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers Australia New Zealand (CREST). Grants are available to small businesses (with 19 or fewer employees) for up to 50 per cent of the cost of a micro, small or standard certified small business check.
