PM&R - Pre-med Fair

What is PM&R? PM&R is a nonsurgical branch of medicine that focuses on function, human performance, and improving overall quality of life for patients with physical impairments or disabilities. Unlike most specialties, our specialty is not just focused on a particular organ (i.e the brain, the heart, the stomach, etc). We like to consider ourselves as function doctors and look at the entire human kinetic chain utilizing medications, procedures, and rehabilitative/assistive technology to improve the human condition.
Why would this interest you? As an engineer myself, I was curious how I could continue using engineering problem-solving skills that I had learned during undergrad to the field of medicine and that is when I discovered PM&R to be the best fit! PM&R is one of the very few specialties (that is nonsurgical) that you are directly using problem-solving skills as well as variety of technologies, medications, and procedures to improve the overall human condition

When: Tuesday February 13th 2024 from 5:30-8 pm
Where: UPitt School of Medicine, Kaufmann Medical Building, Room 1103
