Iowa Energy Efficiency Program Changes

Earlier this year, MidAmerican Energy's modification of its 2014-2018 Iowa Energy Efficiency Plan was approved and new legislation passed that capped spending on energy efficiency programs for the new 2019-2023 Iowa Energy Efficiency Plan. Typically, a new plan would begin on January 1; however, the new legislation delayed the approval and implementation of the 2019-2023 plan. Currently, MidAmerican Energy anticipates that the implementation of the 2019-2023 plan will begin on April 1, 2019. MidAmerican Energy will continue to offer energy efficiency programs similar to our 2018 program offerings until March 31, 2019 with the exception of those changes outlined in the links below.

Click the following links for summaries of the residential  and nonresidential program changes for both the Oct. 1 - Dec. 31, 2018 time period, as well as the transition period from Jan. 1 - March 31, 2019 (or until the Iowa Utilities Board approves the new plan).

Customers will be notified of these changes via articles in our printed "At Your Service" newsletter and our business and residential e-newsletters. Additionally, the new program information will be updated on each program page on MidAmerican Energy's website by Oct. 1, 2018.
