Dear Doctoral Students,

Twenty of your fellow doctoral students are participating in this year's Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, and you can support them! Watch each contestant's video presentation and cast your vote for your People's Choice winner by Friday, April 17, 2020 at 5 p.m. EST.

Then, cheer on your favorite at the 2020 People's Choice Leaderboard. The people’s choice winner will receive a $1,000 travel grant. A panel of judges will award three additional travel grants. Prizes are sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the University Library System and the Center for Teaching and Learning.

The 3MT competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students. Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), 3MT cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
