4. Fatalities reported in Listeria outbreak traced to imported mushrooms

Four people are dead and at least 36 people across 17 states have been sickened in a three-year Listeria outbreak linked to mushrooms imported from Korea. The virulent strain has hospitalized at least 30 of the patients.

7. Counting the cost of fish fraud: ‘Billions’ lost to illicit fisheries

A study has concluded between eight and 14 million tonnes of unreported fish catches are traded illicitly each year, depriving the legitimate market for seafood of between $9bn and $17bn in trade.

8. FSIS publishes results of salmonella, E. coli testing in raw pork
