This Thursday 9am, 1.30pm and 6pm parents and grandparents are invited to participate an interactive workshop as part of the consultation process for the OLG Vision for Learning. This hour long workshop is an opportunity for you to collaborate, contribute and comment on how Our Lady of Grace School brings its Mission and Vision statements to life. The only qualification you need is to be a parent or grandparent of student/s at our school! I look forward to the opportunity to share this process with you this Thursday in the Multi-Purpose Area. Another opportunity for parents and grandparents to contribute to our school is through our Strategic Planning process. Please keep the date of the 23rd June free to participate in a facilitated workshop to plan the strategic direction for the next three years. Consultation meetings are being conducted with the School Board, Parents, OLG Parish Council, students, staff and P&F Executive. More information will be provided closer to the date. There are many opportunities for our students to contribute to and participate in community events and ANZAC Day this year provided such an opportunity. My thanks to Chloe Brennan and Head Girl Olivia Todd who represented OLG at the Dawn Service in North Beach. These Year 6 students were part of the wreath laying ceremony on behalf of the OLG School community and they did us proud. My thanks to the many parents and students who took the opportunity to meet with Mrs Connolly on Monday afternoon. Mrs Connolly will be the Year 1 White Teacher for Term 2 as Mrs Stephanie Schenk has answered a call for assistance from one of our remote schools in the Kimberley. Please keep Mrs Schenk in your prayers as she starts her Kimberley adventure this week. The beginning of the terms is an opportune time to provide a building update for you. You would have noticed that the paving and rendering around the elevator shaft has been completed. The elevator is due for installation as the final part of the building program in June. Over the holidays ongoing maintenance, carpet cleaning, tree pruning, installation of oval lights, refurbishing of office furnishings and general decluttering of our learning environment continued. We are proud of how our school environment supports student learning and safety and will be continuing to listen to our students about how we can continue this improvement.
