ANZAC Day at Hallett Cove

This year’s Dawn Service at Hallett Cove is coordinated by the Hallett Cove Lions Club and will be held at the Hallett Cove foreshore war memorial. This is a spectacular location, elevated above the sea,  where service goers are provided with a beautiful place to contemplate and reflect as the dawn slowly creeps into day.

A breakfast will be held after the Dawn Service from 7.00 am at the Cove Sports and Community Club, Oval Road, Hallett Cove.

As with previous years, the morning is likely to be busy, so the Lions Club has advised that you aim to get there early. Parking nearby is limited, but the two car parks on the east and west sides of Hallett Cove Beach station are a relatively short walk from the service.

I am privileged to be able to speak at this year’s Dawn Service at Hallett Cove and I hope you will join me in commemorating our fallen diggers on this important day of remembrance.

And so we gather to remember,
Not glorify.
To bow our head,
Not wave flags.
To honour,
Not celebrate.

And we will weave what we learn from them, into our future.
