Peer Teaching in a Third Year Family Medicine ClerkshipPeer teaching not only takes the pressure off clerkship faculty to present on all core cases, it encourages medical students to master a topic in depth and to improve the presentation skills they will use throughout their career. At the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, students delivered to their peers a 10-15 minute presentation on a predetermined core case they often saw in outpatient clinics. For many, this presentation was their first formal presenting experience and they felt this activity improved their confidence in teaching and presentation skills.
