The portrait, entitled ‘Jennifer Waits’, was submitted by the Climate Challenge Malawi Programme and taken by Colin Hattersley. This powerful and emotive photo was chosen as this year’s winner for its stunning photographic quality, and because Jennifer’s story and the work of CCPM in her community speak directly to one of the themes of this year’s competition: celebrating responses to the climate crisis. This image will sit alongside over 60 other images and short films as part of our new digital exhibition about the impacts of the climate crisis on people and communities across the world, which will launch later this month. G7 Letter to the Prime MinisterWith less than 2 weeks to go until the G7 summit many are keen to highlight how the UK government’s decision to cut the aid budget undermines their role as leader of this year’s G7 and urge the Prime Minister to reverse this decision. reversal of the aid cuts.
