Who's who in the new Scottish Government Cabinet?
Following the 2021 Scottish Election in May, re-elected First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP announced her new cabinet.
The Alliance welcomes the re-appointment of Jenny Gilruth MSP as Scottish Government Minister with responsibility over international development, with a slightly expanded portfolio that now includes culture.

And the winner is...
We are excited to announce the winner of the 2021 Alliance climate themed photography competition. The portrait, entitled ‘Jennifer Waits’, was submitted by the Climate Challenge Malawi Programme and taken by Colin Hattersley.
This powerful and emotive photo was chosen as this year’s winner for its stunning photographic quality, and because Jennifer’s story and the work of CCPM in her community speak directly to one of the themes of this year’s competition: celebrating responses to the climate crisis.
This image will sit alongside over 60 other images and short films as part of our new digital exhibition about the impacts of the climate crisis on people and communities across the world, which will launch later this month.

Call for abstracts for World Forum on Climate Justice
The Centre for Climate Justice at Glasgow Caledonian University are welcoming abstract submissions ahead of their 2nd World Forum on Climate Justice 2021, which is being held virtually from 21-23 September 2021.
This year's forum has two overarching themes; COP26 and COVID-19.

The #WaveOfHope campaign is asking leaders to work together for a better world. Along with the nation’s favourite illustrators, including Quentin Blake, Lauren Child, Diane Ewen, Jim Field and Nick Sharratt, you can help spread the Wave of Hope in your community.
G7 Letter to the Prime Minister
With less than 2 weeks to go until the G7 summit many are keen to highlight how the UK government’s decision to cut the aid budget undermines their role as leader of this year’s G7 and urge the Prime Minister to reverse this decision.
With that in mind, Bond, in collaboration with academics and Business Fights Poverty, have drafted a public letter for sign on which will be addressed to the PM and asks for an immediate
reversal of the aid cuts.
We encourage as many organisations, academic institutes and business groups to get behind the statement as possible but they need sign-on by COB Friday 4th June. This letter will be public and they have pitched this as an exclusive with BBC News for next Wednesday 9th June.
