With the Summer Solstice quickly arriving, we are embarking on the busiest 4 months of our year.

The lead image was made at the Empty Sky 911 Memorial on Liberty State Park in NJ, a truly inspirational structure, just before our first Ellis Island Photography Tour. More tours are in the works later in the year. I'll post a notice when more dates are set.

We leave tomorrow for our 2nd year teaching at the Madeline Island School for the Arts, northern Wisconsin on Lake Superior. We start on June 26. For those who like to live in the moment, we have space available for this great venue beginning in 5 days!

Whidbey Island, WA is an idyllic and historic part of the Pacific Northwest (Image made from Ebey's Landing). The class is through The Pacific Northwest Art School (PNWAS): great people and the facilities are outstanding.

There is also an additional day class on iPhone!

••• As with all of our workshops, there are daily field shooting sessions w/ ample hands-on assistance) and  daily critique sessions (including software and workflow demos). •••

One of our favorite workshop locations is the South Dakota Badlands. We are constantly exploring this area for new photo venues, adding little known areas of the Badlands, as well as, ghost towns. Dawn and sunset light can be incredible at the overlooks and it's a great time (and is pitch black) to photograph the MIlky Way!

Our last Visual Artistry workshop of the year is in Acadia N.P. where we have easy access to the great rocky coast, graphic patterns, and breaking waves: Outstanding for long exposures. The rich reds and gold reflections are highlighted throughout the ponds and lakes that pepper Mount Desert Island. A great venue for dramatic sunrises and sunsets!

In case you missed it, here's our last " Cool products to check out":

LumeCube - Great new portable light source. Small and amazingly powerful, these are great for low light iphone photography or anywhere else where you need some artificial light. Multiple units can be used for studio type photography, invidually powered by their app! Having one or two cubes in my bag comes in handy on Urban Decay locations.

Xume Adapters - These are on all of my filters. Quite simply, there are 2 magnetic adapters: one for the lens and one for the filter. No more filters cross threading. No more stuck filters. Discount code "sweet10" for 10% discount.

Tony Kuyper Luminosity Actions - Many profesional landscape photographers use this action set. The masks allow you to make non contiguous selections based on luminosity values. This enables unprecented control over the image process. The Sean Bagshaw tutorial videos are highly recommended.
