Two leading professors have been presented with prestigious awards for their work to improve the health of the South Asian community. Professor Kamlesh Khunti and Professor Wasim Hanif were both given the South Asian Health Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award on the final day of the organisation’s two-day Annual Conference. Now officially classified as in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) software, the app will be made widely accessible by Roche first for certain smartphone models via the Google Play Store, enabling broader access to therapy relevant information for non-insulin dependent people with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes. The dates of next year’s Diabetes Professional Care have been unveiled by organisers. DPC2020 will take place on Wednesday, November 11 and Thursday, November 12 2020, just two days before World Diabetes Day on Saturday, November 14. Once again, the largest free-to-attend, CPD-accredited conference and exhibition for all healthcare professionals involved in the prevention, treatment and management of diabetes and its related conditions will take place in Olympia London’s National Hall, the largest space at the venue, to cope with growing demand.
