There's nothing quite like it!

Sourdough is a traditional recipe dough made with naturally occurring yeast, as opposed to adding in dried/compressed yeast to the mixture. This naturally occurring yeast is often called a ‘starter’, which consists of flour and water and must be replenished daily to continually stimulate the wild yeast’s production.

Sourdough is mixed and then left to ferment (usually for around 24 hours). During fermentation the wild yeast feeds on enzymes naturally found in the flour, the bread then proves through the acidification of the dough. This process releases macro-nutrients and in turn reduces bloating and digestive discomfort sometimes caused by other bread.

The Artisan Mundaring bakes four different types of sourdough every day, including white, wholemeal, mixed grain and turmeric & rye kernel varieties. 1/7110 Great Eastern Hwy, Mundaring. Tel. 9295 1799
