Almost Art Project (AAP) is the first art festival in China that specialises in showcasing the works of outsider artists. Since the inaugural exhibition in 2015, the annual event in Beijing has been held successfully in the past three years. The fourth AAP exhibition will open on June 29 at Tabula Rasa Gallery in Beijing’s 798 Art Zone. Part of the exhibits will also be on display at the nearby Whitebox Art Center from June 29 to July 1 in celebration of the opening weekend. The exhibition at Tabula Rasa Gallery will be open until August 10. The month-long exhibition will showcase over 300 works from 41 outsider artists, including 15 new artists who will be showing their works for the first time. The programme also includes workshops and talks, which will be open to the public during the exhibition.

Stephen Romano Gallery presents "Genus Sorurum", an exhibition of images and works by artists which deal with themes of witchcraft, magic, esoterica, alchemy, spells, conjuring, divination, occultism, sorcery, voodoo, and hocus-pocus, all for the purpose of opening your third eye. All of the living artists in the exhibition are women. Artists include India Evans, Lori Field, Alexis Palmer Karl, Tiffany Hsiang, Gigi Spratley and many others including anonymous and vernacular works.

Serbian Sculptors

“Sculpture of Serbian Self-taught Visionaries”, curated by Nina Krstić, opens at the Gallery of Central Military Club of Serbia, Media Centre “Odbrana” this week.

Seventy sculptures by 20 sculptors show the continuity of development of Serbian self-taught sculpture in the period from the mid-twentieth century until today. Visitors have the opportunity to see representative works from the collection of Museum of Naive and Marginal Art (Jagodina), as well as those from private collections.

Norbert Kox in Gillett, WI

Craft Museum of Finland

The main exhibition this year at the Craft Museum of Finland, "Pehmeetä touhua", presents craft-based outsider art by 38 artists from Nordic countries, with works ranging from soft textiles to ceramics and wood sculpting. Films are also shown in which the artists talk about their art.

The fourth annual exhibition presents over 80 works from the Ceres Franco collection including pieces by Jean-Marie Martin, Abrahan Adad, Lou Laurin Lamb and Christine Sefolosha. The good news was recently announced that the collection will officially become a museum by September 2018.
