No images? Click here Hi Good Evening. I haven't written a newsletter in a while, but as of now, I'll be sharing candid monthly updates on what we've been up to as a business. Today I have 10 bits of news. As I write this sentence, it's 17:45 on Monday. Let's see how long it takes me to get this written and sent to you, shall we?
1) Personal Training & Covid-19 Government guidelines are handy, but as a business owner, you have to do what you feel is right. It's tricky as I have personal responsibilities for clients as well as our employees, and we all have responsibilities to our own families and the wider community. I think lockdown is being eased off too quickly in the UK, so even though we legally can, we will NOT be providing face-to-face training in parks. I'm waiting until gyms re-open and if there's is 2nd wave or not before I consider opening us up for any face-to-face coaching. So I guess we'll be sticking to Zoom for the time being!
2) Newly updated website Our website is the shop window to what we do and also the platform for where many of you either study with us or do your daily NUK SOO and MX workouts. This latest major update makes the website much better to use on mobiles, we've changed the layout and added video content, and we did 37 other things I won't bore you with.
3) London coaching team A big warm welcome to Jordan, better known as 'Rastamonk'. He's now part of the London private coaching Team. He's an MMA, Stunts and weapons expert. I'm excited to have him on board. His bio on the site. Sadly, this is also a goodbye to Kate Faison; who was our most senior trainer. She left London to live in NYC earlier this year. She was a brilliant trainer for us. Her last project for us was looking after the lead actress for a massive new Netflix series, and she did such an excellent job. The producers were so happy! Thank you Kate xx
4) Update of current services Personal Traning in London, our next retreat in Switzerland and all wellness events are on hold. My Business Mentoring service has a new 12-week program, and we now (rather obviously) provide zoom 1-2-1 training, aside from that all the other stuff we do and sell online is the same.
5) New 30 day self-development course launching soon It's all delivered via daily emails, sign up now. It's about living a "high-performance lifestyle". It's very educational, practical and better yet... it's FREE. No catch, just click here to get it.
6) MX classes - an update Our MX classes are taught by an international network of self-employed MX certified instructors. We have instructors in 7 countries now. I'm currently going through local government guidelines of each country and making sure that we support each of our instructors as best we can. For example, our classes will have to be adapted to allow for social distancing etc. So we have quite a bit of work to do behind the scenes to make sure MX Classes continue their brand momentum. My vision is for MX to be like the next Zumba.. which is unrealistic and crazy ambitious, but I like being unrealistic. As a personal trainer, I reached my career goals about eight years ago.. (and that wasn't 'realistic' either!). so while I adore my clients and will always coach, I need to have big goals for my company and to stay mentally stimulated and fun to be around.
7) Recent Press & social media news So Jem, a fantastic MX trainer based in my home town of Manchester and the super ball of energy, Tyla who teaches MX classes in South Africa, both did live MX workouts for Women's Fitness mag Insta which was fun. They both killed it!. In the last two months, I've done a few press interviews and wrote some lockdown workouts for various USA and UK mags and was interviewed on a podcast with the Model Manifesto 2 days ago which has just gone live, which you should listen to this if you're a fashion model. I've also been doing some live Instagram workouts with actress friends of mine. A few weeks ago I did daily them for a week with the Spanish actress Jana Perez, and next week Suki Waterhouse and I will be doing some stuff live online too. Please follow me at @teamdanroberts on Instagram, to join in... and if you do follow me... please do say hi! I prefer real conversations than just broadcasting stuff (says he writing a group email).
9) Restarting #loveyourbodyfriday This was a social-media based positive body image campaign we set up five years ago, but it's kind of died as we were not consistent with it. I want to bring it back, so we've been creating content in advance for a re-launch this Friday!. To find out more and get involved, just click here. and I'll let you know how it went on my next newsletter on July 1st.
10) My thoughts on lockdown and our looking ahead. Just before lockdown, I was having meetings with investors to do something massive, but that's been put out on hold... I'll talk about that when it happens. In the meantime, one of my goals for the Dan Roberts Group this year is to get another hotel partnership. Building on the partnerships we already have, we have the infrastructure and expertise to work with numerous hotels at the same time to help them modernise their wellness offerings. If you happened to own a hotel reading this (hey you never know) then please look at who we work with and what we can do for you too. Let's talk about fitness! I've used this time to explore new ways of training. I've finally learned how to Skip! and I'm playing with Indian clubs and learning some stunt stuff. Have I been perfect? Well no. I ate too much and did zero exercises for the first five weeks (mainly because my wife was in hospital and I wasn't in the mood!), but now I'm training 2 hours day. I find being athletic centres me. With the world exploding around us, it's vital to look after your mental health first and do what you need to give you strength and then we can be of more use to others! For me, as you would expect, exercise is my mediation. It centres me and makes me feel good... I have a sneaky suspicion that ist the same for you too! So work out hard tomorrow please, you won't regret it. ___ That's it. Sorry for the essay!. I know it's not very corporate, but I want to use these newsletters as a window into what happens at our company... as I know I would find that more interesting to read than just reading generic fitness tips every month. Please don't forget to sign up for my free 30 Day High-Performance Living course. If you don't want to hear from me in a month, please unsubscribe, I won't take it personally. I will, but I'll get over it! Stay safe, Dan x
