We are seeking motivated college students interested in making a positive difference in the lives of underprivileged youth in Allegany County.

Upward Bound (UB) is a FREE pre-college program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The program is designed to prepare and motivate low-income and/or first-generation students to succeed in high school and ultimately enroll in and graduate from the college or university of their choice.
During the academic year, Upward Bound students participate in enrichment classes and tutoring during 12 UB Saturdays held on the Frostburg State University campus. In the summer, students experience college life firsthand through our Summer Residential Program, where they live on campus for three or five weeks and take part in enrichment classes, group activities, field trips, and other educational experiences.

Undergraduate Research Assistant Opportunity - Alcohol & Smoking Research Laboratory
The Alcohol & Smoking Research Laboratory (ASRL) investigates the neural and behavioral mechanisms of cigarette craving. Using functional MRI (fMRI) and behavioral assessments, we examine how craving emerges in response to smoking-related cues and how brain activity reflects these craving states. This work is part of a large NIH-funded project (R01AT010896, see here: https://reporter.nih.gov/search/7Iw3CntmckO9-QJyIfW_IA/project-details/…) that aims to identify the brain pathways involved in craving and to inform future craving-reduction strategies.
Please see Dr. Sayette's website for additional details.

The Social Neuroscience Research Core at Marcus Autism Center, in conjunction with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University School of Medicine, is offering two-year predoctoral research fellowships in six scientific subspecialties. Fellows will participate in innovative research to provide novel solutions to complex problems in a robust clinical environment.
Our research fellowships are intended for college graduates to dedicate two intensive years to research in autism prior to entering graduate studies. Fellows will participate in and guide innovative research, working with children with autism and their families, ranging in age from week-old infants to adolescents and young adults.
Fellows receive direct research mentorship from the program directors and Marcus Autism Center faculty members, and they are involved in a highly active and productive community of clinical research scientists.
