OPENING HOURS DURING THE SUMMER

Denmark generally slows down during the summer, which is also the case for the International Centre and other public offices.

The International Centre will not be fully staffed during the summer period, so please be patient if you have inquiries during weeks 29, 30 and 31. During these weeks many will be away on vacation so you should expect an extended service time when contacting the centre's reception.

International Academic Staff Services (IAS) will be closed in week 30 and in the weeks 29 and 31 you should not expect immediate answers, as the office will not be fully staffed.

Other public offices will also be reduced in staff or closed:

The Danish Immigration Service will be open as normal but with less staff.

The Aarhus Police Foreign Office will be open as normal, but with less staff. Experiences from previous years tells us, that you should book appointments well ahead of time.

International Citizen Service West (in Aarhus) will be closed for 2 weeks in July (weeks 29 and 30).
For further information about the opening hours of the 3 other ICS centres, please contact the ICS. If you need the services of ICS during the above 2 weeks, you should instead contact the local Citizen Service, the local tax authorities or the Regional State Administration directly. These offices will be open but with less staff.

AARHUS OFFERS FREE WIRELESS TO STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES

Students and employees at higher education institutions can now access wireless internet for free in Aarhus at the library, at a concert or when dropping their kids off at school. Wireless net access is automatic close to public buildings, just as it is at their home educational institution.

THE UIC SUMMER PROGRAMME 2015 HAS ARRIVED

Even though the holiday is approaching there is no need to get bored - on the contrary, the summer calls for us to enjoy it! And a great way to do so is by joining some of the many summer activities hosted by the University International Club, UIC. The new UIC Summer Programme 2015 has just been released this week, and it offers a wide range of events and activities during June, July and August.

During the summer months UIC will explore different topics and a recurring motif in several events is water. Among other things the programme includes an excursion to the Danish Lake District (including a stop at the Sky Mountain), a walk at Tangkrogen to enjoy the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition, a tour of the new area Aarhus Ø - and so much more!

Everyone is welcome to join the events. They are all free of charge, but please notice that some require sign-up.
