What Happens After Orgasm?

Some people fall into a deep slumber after orgasm. Others come down with headaches or flu-like symptoms. And some have sneezing fits!

Orgasm is a mysterious process, and what happens afterward can be just as mysterious.  In our latest blog post, we look at some of the ways bodies behave after the "big O."  Some are positive, like partner bonding. Others are more concerning, like crying jags and seizures.

Get the details here.

Low Sexual Interest Linked to Messy Surroundings

Older men who find their sex drive waning might want to consider the state of their home.

A recent study of 955 older couples showed that 40% of the men from disorderly homes were less interested in sex during the previous year. The rate was 25% for men in orderly homes.

Why was this so? The researchers weren't sure, exactly, but it's possible a home that's messy, dirty, or in need of repairs is a source of stress that can affect sexual interest.

The study was published in May in The Gerontologist. Learn more here.

Understanding Obesity and Sexual Dysfunction

Obese people can face a number of sexual problems, such as erectile dysfunction (ED), poor vaginal lubrication, and orgasm difficulties.

But how does obesity lead to sexual dysfunction? A recent article in Sexual Medicine Reviews discusses three ways:

  • biological changes
  • concurrent health conditions like diabetes
  • psychological and emotional effects

Sometimes, a combination of these factors is involved.

Can weight loss help? It might. Click here for more information on how obesity affects sexual function and how doctors might help.
