Scrapheap Ride update No Images? Click here Hello Scrapers, Most of the event will be at the Pooncarie Camp ground with a marquee set up near the Golf Club / Park entrance. There will be a bar running at our campground Marquee. Saturday Night Dinner & Auction we will be at the Pooncarie Hall opposite the Hotel. Bike Show & Grime will be out the front of the Hotel at 3pm for a group photo. In this issue
Riders Registrations still OpenWe have over 100 riders registered and there is still time to register for the event. Fundraising ProgressTo date we are closing in on 101 riders registered and 20 teams on the go. Graeme Girdler leading the individual total with $3,910.00 closely followed by Bruce Sharpe and Paul at the Flags. Big shout out to Team Molly Moo who lead the Teams Challenge with $9,505.00 – AMAZING Effort!! All Ordinaries and Thirsty Camels in hot pursuit!! That’s a big chunk of the current total of $41,707.00. Meals Packages - Closing Oct 28Meal packages have been finalised and are able to be prepaid here. Packages are for Friday Night, Saturday Morning, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know. Note: there are a number of local businesses who will be able to cater for Lunch requirements on Saturday. Adventure Moto RideThe Adventure Moto Ride is Departing Wisemans Ferry 8.30am. Warren Sakey has come up with another great route. If you have any questions or to arrange to meet up along the way call Warren on 0438 285 366. This year we will be departing from Wisemans Ferry October 3rd around 8am for a 3-day journey to Pooncarie. Day 4Oct 6: Pooncarie for the festivities. Free time to explore the surrounding area. Return Ride Interest – Let us know... We will have a support vehicle for the ride home departing Sunday October 7th. Departing Pooncarie on Sunday Morning to visit Lake Mungo and camp their overnight on our return Journey. Day 5Oct 7: Lake Mungo National Park 90 km +70 km sightseeing loop We are trying to let the communities we are travelling through of our numbers. It helps if we can forewarn them of our numbers, so we don’t swamp the towns food and fuel supplies. Either let DSA know when they call you this week or email info@scrapheapadventureride.com.au. As we are riding country roads, the road conditions can change. Road surfaces range from bitumen, dirt road of gravel, corrugations, sand and bulldust. There are tar only options to get to Pooncarie. Please ride to your ability. If there is rain closer to the event the route may change. AccommodationOn the Ride to and from Pooncarie, you can book your own accommodation. Accommodation at Pooncarie is Camping only. There is plenty of camping on the banks of the river near the Golf Course and we will have a food marquee there as well. The campground has approximately 6 powered sites. Hot showers are $2.00. Scrapheap T-shirtsWe have had to order some additional M, L & XL shirts and these will be sent out once we receive them. We have additional T-shirts available, also in kids sizes.
