19 May 2020 : COVID-19 Alert Level 2 update | Read a plain text version of this newsletter

Message from the Registrar-General

Tēnā koe – hello.

Paul James, Chief Executive of the Department of Internal Affairs, has determined that citizenship ceremonies will continue to be suspended until further notice and at least while we remain at alert level 2. That approach applies whether the ceremony would be held in NZ or overseas.  We will give you at least one month’s notice if this changes.

We will be providing you with the contact details of new citizens in your local authority so you can arrange events (virtual or in person). Attendance is optional for new citizens and local authorities will be compensated as per usual.
