6th-9th Grade Student/Parent/Guardian/Advisor Conference Sign-Ups Now Online!

This year, we are using Google Forms to schedule student/parent/guardian/advisor conferences. These conferences will be on Friday, Dec. 7. Conferences are an important touch-point between the school and families as we work together for student success. Students and advisors prepare to make this a productive time. There are no classes for students on this day.

If you would like to have an optional student/parent/guardian/advisor conference with the advisor of your 10th, 11th, or 12th grader, you should contact your student’s advisor directly.

If you have questions or experience issues with signing up, please call Kiara Littlejohn at 206-816-6027.

Spirit Wear Store is Open for Holiday Shopping!

Take a break from the holiday shopping rush and make your purchase online! Our featured items for the 2018-19 school year are softshell jackets and a variety of hoodies. All sales benefit the Raymond Taussig Terry Financial Aid Endowment. If you intend for something to be a gift, please leave a "note for the seller" so we don't accidentally ruin any surprises.

Announcing the Mt. Baker Snow Cave Trip

Join us in the North Cascades for the Mt. Baker Snow Cave Trip, one of our most popular Outdoor Program trips of the year. Students will construct and stay in snow shelters and spend the rest of the weekend indulging in recreation activities in the alpine valley. More information about the trip can be found on the Outdoor Program webpage.

Middle School Enrichment Classes

We have a slate of after school enrichment classes for Middle School lined up in January. We will be offering Machine Sewing, Tech Creations, Nature Spa, and Dungeon School. Each class is offered by a community partner organization that specializes in teaching the topic. Descriptions can be found here and registration is open now. Classes are held after school, 3:45-5:15 pm, for eight weeks. These programs are designed for Middle School students, but interested Upper School students may be admitted, space permitting.

Limited amount of financial aid is available through the Northwest School Experience Fund. Contact Leilani Nussman, extended learning director, to make arrangements.

Annual Fund Giving Update

Seventh grade parents have reached a 43 percent participation rate! Thanks to all the 7th grade families who already made a gift to get us to this level!

If you haven’t yet participated, we hope you’ll join others in your child’s grade with a commitment today. Remember, you can pledge now, and pay later–simply communicate your intended gift amount and spread the payment out between now and June 30.

Our goal is 100 percent parent participation. Contact Julie Lombardo (206-816-6208) with any questions.

Middle School Basketball Clinics

We would like to invite your students to join our Middle School Winter Basketball Clinics! The clinics will be led by Northwest Upper School basketball players and coaches. The clinics will focus on developing individual fundamentals in a team-oriented, encouraging, and fun environment. Students will participate in skill-building drills, individual competitions, and scrimmages. Participants will also receive a camp t-shirt.

Suggested fee is $40 (but is not required; please pay what you are able). This event is open to any students grades 5-8, including both Northwest and non-Northwest students, so please feel free to spread the word! Contact Britt Atack with any questions.
