Welcome to the Herenga ā Nuku Aotearoa Matariki Heri Kai Map Quiz. It's a fun way to celebrate Matariki and maybe win a $50 Bonfire Gift Card. This year, Matariki is about feasting — gathering and sharing kai with your loved ones. So, to win our quiz, use the Matariki Heri Kai map to find any of 16 kai/food-related locations in Aotearoa, and you're in the draw.

Remember, the bigger, the better! Find the biggest example of each type of food in New Zealand. Plus, there are two tricky bonus locations with a name related to kai. The more kai you find, the better your chances of winning, so get hunting. You need to zoom in to 1:72,000 to see the hidden kai pop up on the map.

Found a kai location?

When you find a location, fill out the map quiz survey form, including the location name as it appears when clicked on in the map and your email address so we can email you if you are the winner. Submit your entries by 21 July 2024 for a chance to win. Winners will be selected at random on 25 July 2024.

The Fine Print

• Each location counts as one entry, so the more locations you find, the better.
• The maximum number of entries that will count against any entrant is 18.
• The competition is open between 1-21 July 2024. Any entries outside of these dates will not be accepted.
• The winning entries will be drawn at random on 25 July 2024.
• The winners will be notified by email shortly after by Herenga ā Nuku, and we'll reveal all locations on the map so you can check your answers :)
• Your email address data will not be used for any purpose other than contacting the competition winners. They will be deleted from our records within 30 days of the end of the competition.

• Entry is open to New Zealand residents only. 
• The prizes are not transferable. They are as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. 
• The winners will be notified via email. Herenga ā Nuku will make all reasonable attempts to contact the winners. If those attempts fail, we will select another winner. 
• We reserve the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant whom we believe either has tampered with the entry process or has submitted an entry not in accordance with these conditions of entry. Herenga ā Nuku reserves the right to exclude any entry.  
• We do not accept responsibility for inaccurate entries or entries not received on time for any reason, including technical or telecommunications problems, security breaches, or viruses. If such problems arise, we may modify, cancel, terminate, or suspend the competition.
• We reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition or these terms and conditions without notice.
• We are not responsible for inaccurate prize or competition details supplied by any third party. 
• By entering the competition, winners agree to us publishing your names for publicity. 
• We will not share personal or identifying data from the competition with third parties.
