2. New outbreak underway despite Canada’s new rules for frozen chicken

Canadian consumers are again on alert for Salmonella in frozen breaded chicken, according to a new recall notice and a public health warning about the latest of 18 outbreaks linked to such products since May 2017.

3. U.K. reports more Salmonella cases linked to Polish eggs

The United Kingdom has reported 11 cases of Salmonella this year as part of an outbreak traced to eggs from Poland that started in 2012.

New reports of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Mexico and Vietnam are forcing strategic changes in both countries while Mexico has reportedly banned birds from specific California counties because of virulent Newcastle Disease (vND).

An outbreak of Yersinia in Denmark and Sweden with more than 50 cases has been linked to fresh spinach.

7. Czech tests find Salmonella in poultry from Poland

Salmonella has been detected in 16 tons of poultry imported to the Czech Republic from Poland since mid-April, according to the Czech State Veterinary Administration (SVS).

8. People in 8 states infected with E. coli; Aldi, ADM Milling recalling Baker’s Corner flour
