Grant Supports Career & College Readiness Programs
The Foundation has received a $5,000 grant from The Glaser Foundation to bolster funding for career and college readiness programs. These programs include stipends for college entrance and world language exams, College in High School credits, internships and apprenticeships, summer school credit retrieval and post-secondary scholarships.
Our goal in partnership with the Edmonds School District is to reduce barriers to on-time graduation and access to post-secondary education. We anticipate serving as many as 3,100 ESD high school students during the 2019-2020 school year.
Last year as a result of Foundation funding, 589 students took PSAT/Pre-ACT exams, 124 students earned 620 College in High School credits, and 376 students earned world language credits with 236 earning a seal of biliteracy. Seventy-four graduates and alumni received 96 post-secondary scholarships totaling $146,000.

Nourishing Network programs include weekend meal kits for homeless students, Pop-Up Pantries at five schools, the summer meal program which served 3,790 free lunches this summer, and holiday meals. Our Whole Families, Whole Communities program provides coordinated social services for vulnerable families in our school district. We thank Campbell Auto Group for its partnership.
