Water Bore Drillers News Welcome to the in-betweenerHappy 2019, we hope you and your families had an enjoyable holiday period. In December last year we sent you the first edition of this newsletter, we hope you found the information helpful. This edition is a bit of an in-betweener to give you some more information on how to find the drilling sample information. Drilling samples (strata and water samples)You may not know this but in the Territory drilling samples are not required every time you drill a bore. A bore work permit will specify when they are required. Samples are generally required in specified areas. To enable you to consider any additional expenses this may incur when quoting jobs and to help you prepare for bore work before you see a bore work permit, the department has made this information available on NR Maps. Click here to go to NR Maps or via the department’s web page through the Information Systems link. To show the Strata and Water Samples areas in NR Maps, follow these simple steps.
Samples should be sent or delivered directly to the Water Resources Division at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Winnellie Depot, 24 Tannadice Street, Winnellie. Samples must not be left at depots or offices in Katherine or Alice Springs. For more helpful tips on NR Maps check out “What’s New?” or “Help” located at the top right of the screen when you are in NR Maps as magnified in the picture above. What do you want to hear more about? We have created this newsletter in response to feedback from the Drillers Qualification Advisory Committee and other drillers who want to be more informed. We understand this often relates to any changes, but we think there could also be an opportunity to provide you other information as well. We just need to know what you want to hear more about. Help us help you and let us know what you would like to read about in your newsletter. Now the new Water Act is in place, we would also like to know if you are interested in attending an information session on the changes to the Water Act and how they impact you. Would you like to attend an information session? Where would you prefer to do this Alice Springs, Katherine or Darwin? Water Resources |
