Tempus Fugit

We just got home, albeit not for long, after our Palouse Harvest workshop in Colfax, WA, followed immediately by our workshop at the Madeline Island School of the Arts, WI. We had a challenge in the Palouse because of the large number of wildfires in the region. In fact, we were breathing smoke all the way into western ND! So, it was a very nice change to hit the crystal clear air and crisp pre-fall temps on Madeline Island.

Here are blog posts from the Palouse and from Madeline Island.

End of Year Events Updates

Although we have been fortunate to fill a great majority of our workshops each year, we head into the end of the year with openings in one of our favorite venues: the Maine Lighthouse Tour.  Please contact Susan for more info and to register.

Soon after the Badlands is our Maine Lighthouse Tour, where we have some pretty cool trips planned, including a day trip to Monhegan Island!

After our fall in NH workshop, we head to Townsend, TN for the 1st Annual Great Smoky Mountains Photography Summit. This should be a truly great event!

Then we continue west to Santa Fe to co-teach our second annual event with the great Bobbie Goodrich.

Afterwards, we are off to Creativity seminars in San Luis Obispo and San Francisco. We look forward to seeing our west coast friends. The pre-seminar (free) event in S.F. will feature a new presentation on The Evolution of Style, which is a hot topic these days. All details HERE.

When the smoke clears on the west coast, we finish up the year filming an instructional DVD in Denver w/ Craftsy.

Then, if it's January, 2015, it must be Cuba!

We have all had our tripods sink when photographing on the beach, especially when waves come and recede over the tripod legs.

I've been using Manfrotto's Snow Shoes for years and have even had the tripod immersed in the ocean (submerged 1-2 feet) doing long exposures with no movement.

The wide plates give the tripod a firm footing enabling us to relax a bit and not be freaked out whenever a wave breaks over the legs.

Check them out here, then purchase them directly or from your favorite vendor.
