I just received the latest brief from Chief Burr via the National Weather Service in Wilmington, NC:
-
Winter storm warning remains in effect from 5:00 am Tuesday until 6:00 pm Wednesday.
-
Snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected.
-
Winds...North 10 TO 20 mph with gusts up to 30 MPH.
We're taking a team out during the worst of the weather to check on the shut-in, the elderly with relatives who are living out of town, and those who lose power.
We've done this successfully in the past and need your help again spreading the word.
If you are living out of town and have a relative here that you can't get in touch with, or that needs to be checked on, please contact me directly:

We will have additional shifts doubled during the worst of the weather. Our Firemen, Police, County EMS, Dispatchers, Water & Grounds Crews -- they'll all be out working to keep the city running.
Be sure to thank them when you see them!
