Uniting Church Child Safe Principle 3

Last month we talked about Principle 2 which was all about listening to children and helping them to participate in decisions that affect them. The third principle relates to families and communities, as adapted by the National Safe Church Unit of the UCA.

The Synod Ecumenical Relations Committee (SERC) invites congregations who have been involved in Ecumenical activities in their local community to submit a brief of their activity. This can be a written report with photographs, video, or whatever presentation you would like to make.

Called by God 2

More than 50 people gathered in Adelaide recently for the 2021 President's Conference, Called by God 2. Over four days, the conference weaved together worship, theological reflection, panel conversations and deep personal sharing to highlight the joy of 'every member ministry.’

Event Highlight: SA History Festival

During the month of May which is South Australian History Month, Pilgrim Uniting Church are offering two events: an opportunity to delve into the archives to view historic items from the beginning of its foundation in 1867. Also, free one-hour guided tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays during May.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

 


Reflection of the week

Contemplation on John 15:9-17. The core of the Christian message is love, God loves me! How is it to sit with this reality? If we could grasp God’s unconditional love for us, life would be radically a journey of joy. To accept that God loves me is also to accept the reality that God loves all others in the same way.
