Louisiana Flood Relief Info

Rising waters in Louisiana are wreaking havoc across the southern area of the state. Countless families are displaced, houses are being destroyed, power is out and people's lives are being forever changed. In times like this we are all called not just to have church, but to BE THE CHURCH. We are honored to establish relief efforts with two amazing churches that are being directly impacted by the flood waters but are still able to serve as distribution points for their respective communities. Bethany World Prayer Center is coordinating the relief efforts in the Baton Rouge area and Our Saviors Church is coordinating relief efforts for the Acadiana region.  Both churches will be working hand-in-hand with all the churches in their areas to be the hands and feet of Jesus over the next several weeks.

Currently, the greatest need is a financial one. Churches in the areas are in need of financial resources to begin the relief efforts and several are in need of direct financial help as they will not be able to hold normal weekend services this weekend and, perhaps, for several weekends to come.  Additional needs in the coming days will include volunteer teams, construction crews, water and non-perishable food items.

To give financially and to volunteer in other ways, please go to http://www.bethany.com and http://www.oursaviorschurch.com.  Both websites are being updated constantly with the latest information and continuing needs.

It is amazing what happens when our churches come together to serve our communities. This is one of those opportunities we have to work together to show the great people of Louisiana how much God loves them and the life changing power of the local church.  Please pray for all those affected and get involved in any way possible in the relief effort.

To God be the glory,
