The CAUL Hub started the year on a good note, with the Department of Environment and Energy officially accepting our Research Plan 4. Thank you for your contributions to the development of the plan, and we look forward to working with you further during the year. We have included a brief summary of our key projects for 2018 on our website:

Fenner Conference on the Environment: Urban Sustainability and Conversation
4-6 April, Canberra

Sponsored by the CAUL Hub, this conference presents an opportunity for researchers, industry partners and policy makers from the fields of urban sustainability and conservation to meet and co-create a roadmap through which Australia can be a global leader in this space.

202020 Vision's The Green Light Tour Melbourne - Mon 26 Feb, 8.30am
Look out for events in other states


The CAUL Hub is partner for this year’s 202020 Vision National Tour, which kicks off in Melbourne next Monday. This year the tour events aim to inspire, empower and create connections to transform our urban landscapes from grey to green.

Included in the line up of speakers for the Melbourne event is the CAUL Hub's Deputy Leader Joe Hurley.

Common products, like perfume and paint, are polluting the atmosphere

It has been found that as fuel emissions drop, consumer products are playing a larger role in air pollution. The CAUL Hub's Jenny Fisher explains in this article in The Conversation.

Workshop

CAUL Hub & Friends of Westgate Park ‘Providing for Pollinators’ project: Summer Citizen Science Workshop

On Sun 18 Feb, Luis Mata led a citizen science workshop in Westgate Park, as part of a CAUL Hub subproject to develop an urban citizen science program to reconnect people with nature in cities. The event was organised with Hub partner Friends of Westgate Park, and will happen again in April 2018.
