Wander through wildflower-land

Take a trail through the bush, play the pollinator's games and make some wildflower craft. Suitable ages 4-7 years. 10am-11.30am.

Trek the track

With hiking bag on and map ready to go, trek out to Ball Creek campsite along the Bibbulmun Track for an overnight stay. Suitable ages 13-16 years. 11am-11am (overnight).

Friday 5 October
Sticky fingers and friends

Discover why our geckos have sticky fingers and learn about other reptiles and their adaptations to the Australian climate. Enjoy an up-close encounter with some friendly reptiles. Suitable ages 5-8 years. 10am-11.30am.

Fight or flight

Discover animals biological defence mechanisms which help them avoid being captured and meet some of our top aerial predators in an up-close encounter. Suitable ages 7-12 years. 1pm-3pm.

Swan View Show

Saturday 6 October
The Swan View Show is back for its 70th year and this year promises to be one of the best yet, with plenty of fun for the whole family. Entertainment includes dance, novelty stalls, baby animals, show rides and showbags. 9am-5pm Brown Park, Swan View. The Swan View Show is staged by a Not for Profit Volunteer Society for the benefit of the local community. Entry: Adults $10, Seniors $5, Children ages 5-16 $5. Family Pass (2 Adults/2 Children $20). Festival of Forgotten Skills 2018

Saturday 6 October

Mundaring Sunday Markets has a great range of stalls, including seasonal fruit and veg, jewellery, scarves, bags, clothes, craft items, garden ornaments, plants, soap, honey, chutneys and preserves. 2018 Darlington Bush & Variety Walk Series

Greenmount wildflowers (4.1km)
Join the last walk of the 2018 Bush & Variety Walk Series which takes in selected tracks displaying Greenmount wildflowers - amongst the best seen anywhere! Celebration BBQ follows. A good level of fitness is required for this walk (1.5-2 hrs). Commences 9am (arrive early to allow for pre-walk introduction). Cost $5 (payable on the walking day). Halloween Literary Dinner at KSP Writers' Centre

Meet KSP’s final Writer-in-Residence for 2018, Cath Drake, at this early Halloween Literary Dinner. Cath is an Australian poet from Perth now living in London, who has been published in anthologies and literary magazines in UK, Australia and US. Cath’s pamphlet ‘Sleeping with Rivers’ won the 2013 Mslexia/Seren poetry pamphlet prize and was the Poetry Book Society summer choice 2014. Mundaring Artists Open Studios - Discover Art in the Perth Hills

Over two weekends Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 October, Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 October 
The Mundaring Hills Open Studio event presents a rare opportunity to experience the lives of our local artists and gain an insight into their work environment, skills and methods.

With over 40 artists participating this year, the open studios event will give you access to art work in an incredibly broad range of medium – from glass and ceramics to oil painting, water colours, textiles, wood and recycled metals, jewellery and much more. Mundaring District Museum - Made in Mundaring exhibition

Throughout October
This new temporary exhibition explores the many marvellous items that have been ‘Made in Mundaring’. From the granite slabs quarried at Mahogany Creek for the Perth GPO to the beautiful stained-glass windows made in Greenmount by Gowers & Brown, the range of building materials, foods, domestic objects, artworks, and inventions made locally is extraordinary. The labour and creativity of people in the past, and in the present, is acknowledged in the array of objects displayed, and in the stories of the individuals who made them. Museum open Mon-Sat 9.30am-4pm, Sun & public hols 10am-2.30pm.
