More than 7,500 healthcare professionals have been visiting the UK's biggest free CPD-accredited conference dedicated to diabetes which "seamlessly" went virtual this year. This year, because of COVID-19 restrictions, DPC2020 Virtual moved online and started on Wednesday, November 11. The three-day event had a different programme everyday, which started from 8.30am to 2pm. Evening sessions were also available from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Losing just two to three kilograms of weight and exercising for two years nearly halves the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, research has shown. The findings of the Norfolk Diabetes Prevention Study (NDPS), the largest diabetes prevention research study in the world in the last 30 years, have been published in the JAMA Internal Medicine journal.
