"Customer Service is the Key" Award Nominations

Six Department of Pediatrics physicians were nominated for a
"Customer Service is the Key" Award.

Congratulations to:

  • Melissa Elder, M.D., Associate Professor and Chief of Immunology, Rheumatology and Infectious Disease

"Customer Service is the Key" recognizes and rewards employees who make a difference by providing compassionate care and excellent service to customers.

An average of 3,200 employee nominations are received every quarter. Nominations come from all corners of the organization and recognize employees in clinical settings who provide direct patient care, as well as those who are behind the scenes in administrative areas.

The physicians were recognized at a special luncheon on September 24.

Research Report

The Department of Pediatrics consists of a dynamic and growing faculty dedicated to the highest quality patient care, research and educational activity devoted to improving the health of children. The department is uniquely balanced, with almost exactly half of its budget derived from clinical activity and the other half from funded research.

With some of the country’s leading specialists and researchers, our pediatric team is focused on bringing the latest research and most innovative treatments to patients.

Therefore, it is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics to provide the best health care – the best treatments, the best doctors and the best researchers searching for new medicines and cures for sick children.
