Adele Henry is now handling communications for the Critical Minerals Facilitation Office after doing so for the National Hydrogen Strategy Taskforce. Andrew Macintosh, Professor at ANU and Chair of the federal Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee, has been appointed to the new federal royal commission into this summer’s bushfires. He will be joined by retired Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin, who will lead the commission, and former Judge of the Federal Court of Australia, Annabelle Bennett. Rupert Maloney has been appointed Head of Hydrogen at the Clean Energy Finance Corporation. He joins from Caltex where he was General Manager, Strategy & Corporate Development. Natalie Oliver is now a Senior Policy Officer, Emergency Management & Preparedness, Energy Security at the Department of Industry, Science, Energy & Resources. Kent Alcott is now Senior Communications Officer, Collie Delivery Unit at the WA Department of Premier & Cabinet. Sarah Amos is now Head of Commercial at Queensland Treasury. She was previously a Director at PwC. Alisa Chambers has been appointed Director, Governance, Risk & Planning at EPA NSW, moving up from Manager, Planning & Governance. Johan Linde is now a Senior Policy Adviser to NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet. He was previously Associate Director, Fiscal Strategy at the NSW Treasury. Edit Mucsi is now Business Development Manager, Fuels & Hydrogen at the SA Department for Trade & Investment. She moves from the SA Department of Energy & Mining. Toni Power has been appointed Queensland’s new Coordinator-General. She was most recently a Deputy Director-General in Queensland’s Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure & Planning. Sarah Roebuck has been promoted to Principal Legal Officer at EPA NSW, moving up from Senior Lawyer. Kevin Stewart has been appointed acting WA Energy Disputes Arbitrator. He is a Partner at MinterEllison, heading up their WA dispute resolution practice. Sarah Wademan has joined the NSW Department of Planning, Industry & Environment as a Senior Policy Officer, Energy Consumers & Competition Policy. She was most recently a Senior Policy Officer, Energy Transition at the former federal Department of the Environment & Energy. Mitchel Watson is now Manager, Energy Programs at the Vic Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning. This is his second stint with the Department following a secondment as Program Manager, Energy Demand, Programs & Safety last year. Rosalie Cobai has been promoted to Director, Communications & Campaigns at The Chamber of Minerals & Energy of WA. She takes over from Tony Monaghan. Adam Foster is now the Government Engagement Lead for Project Marinus at TasNetworks. He is certainly engaged with the Tasmanian government: he spent the past few years as an Adviser to Matthew Groom, Jeremy Rockliff and, most recently, Michael Ferguson. Matt Hingerty is now Chief of Communications & Government Relations at energy technology company Star Scientific. He recently finished up running Barton Deakin and was previously a Chief of Staff to Joe Hockey and George Souris. Andrew McKenna has been bumped up to Director, Policy & Advocacy at Business SA, following the departure of Anthony Penney. The lobby group is also on the hunt for a new Director, Media & Communications, as Verity Edwards is leaving next month. Dor Son Tan is now Head of Distribution at Energy Networks Australia, following his six-month secondment there as Future Networks Lead. He jumped over from Citipower & Powercor, where he was Project Manager, Network Solutions. Cameron Walters is now a Government & Stakeholder Engagement Adviser at TransGrid. He previously worked in the office of NSW MP Gareth Ward and currently serves as a Wollongong City Councillor. Justin Ashley has joined Synergy as a Senior Policy Adviser.
