Students Can Apply for the Iowa Tuition Grant Today. No images? Click here Apply for the Iowa Tuition Grant through the FAFSA Today! Are your students prepared to file the FAFSA? Today marks the first day for students to apply for financial aid for the 2022-2023 school year. And once again, the Iowa Tuition Grant is offering even more grant money per family per year! Students attending an Iowa private college or university and who qualify all four years can be covered for up to $27,200 over a period of four years and the best part: it doesn’t need to be paid back because it’s a grant – not a loan. Make sure your students know about the importance of filing their FAFSA early. Many schools have priority deadlines which ensure the most amount of funding will be available. Do you know families who are unsure if they will receive funding? Eligibility requirements frequently change, so if funding was not available in previous years, encourage them to file again. Iowa private schools will match the Iowa Tuition Grant, potentially doubling the financial support. Each Iowa private college and university is required to provide additional financial aid to Iowa Tuition Grant recipients. With the maximum annual ITG award currently set at $6,800, the match from the school could potentially bring the total to $13,600 per year. Some students are finding that an Iowa private school education can actually be more affordable than a public-school education!
