Call for Nominations: ISSM Board of Directors

The ISSM Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for four open positions on the ISSM Board of Directors: President-Elect, Secretary General, and two Members-at-Large.

Any ISSM member in good standing may seek election for these positions by submitting a petition for nomination signed by 20 full members of the society. Petitions must be received by the Secretary-General by June 15, 2020.

Scientists Investigate Stem Cell Therapy for ED

A new study of stem cell therapy in men with erectile dysfunction (ED) has provided some possible clues for outcome success.

The study, published online in February in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, included 36 men with ischemic cardiomyopathy and ED. Twenty-eight participants received transendocardial stem cell injections, and eight men underwent placebo injections.

Researchers used the erectile function domain of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-EF) to assess progress.

They discovered that men who received higher cell doses and those who received autologous-derived cells had similar significant results.
